Hotel Bougainvillea San José

The hotel is in a northern suburb of San Jose set in large, beautifully landscaped gardens rich in local bird life. Service was polite and professional. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet.

Enjoyed the restaurant space, the large windows allow light to enter. the variety of the food was good. Liked the breakfast juice and fruit selections. Steak at dinner was excellent. Staff were all friendly, courteous and helpful. Enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. The decor in the hotel is bright and colourful. Loved the gardens.

This hotel was recommended to us by friends who spent a lot of time in Costa Rica as a great respite after a red-eye flight before heading out to the mountains. We loved it! While it is not luxurious, it is pretty and clean, the air smells great, and it has a good vibe. The botanic gardens are exquisite. What a surprising delight! And our room was completely quiet. The beds were super comfortable and we never heard a sound. The staff were lovely and the food was great. Highly recommend!

The room was very comfortable and spacious with lots of small touches which made our stay enjoyable. The gardens and pool were exceptional with lots of birds and beautiful flowers. The staff were very professional and helpful. Breakfast was very good.

This hotel was simply immaculate. The staff was excellent. I last stayed here about 35 years ago. Was delighted to see the hotel still had its charm and remains extremely clean. The breakfast was very good and filling. Just a great place to stay.
